We, here at Phifer Company, hope that you are having a great week and are enjoying this beautiful summer weather. We’re looking forward to what will be a busier summer in terms of hiring than previous summers. As stated before in the previous blog, there is an increase in PR hiring for 2013. But that’s not all. Hiring in general, in many industries, has really peaked (including in Marketing, according to a recent forecast by CareerBuilder). This survey showed that 26% of hiring managers plan to add permanent, full-time employees in 2013. This number is up from the 23% that it was in 2012.
Furthermore, according to Business Breakthroughs International, U.S. employers seem to be more confident and willing to add new staff this year, and even the second half of the year will show a growth in hiring. Thus, many people are optimistic this year about their chances of landing a job, according to CNN. This is because the unemployment rate was at 7.7 as of December 27 (this was the lowest we have seen since December 2008), says the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
All of this said, we are expanding our search for qualified candidates to fill the plethora of positions we are getting in.
