Account Executive - Public Affairs

Our client a leading communications and public affairs firm in the San Francisco Bay Area, is seeking a full-time account executive to begin work immediately at the agency’s Walnut Creek office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in public relations, public affairs or community event organizing. Candidate must be an exceptional writer with experience drafting press releases, talking points, fact sheets and more. Excellent benefits and competitive salary, commensurate with experience.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Draft high-quality, client-ready messaging and materials (e.g., talking points, press releases, fact sheets, letters to the editor, website copy, etc.)
  • Write materials with an eye for language and tone; ensure messaging optimizes the client’s brand voice and engages our audiences
  • Work closely with our graphic design team to brainstorm visual treatments to enhance materials
  • Plan, execute and staff town halls, open houses and workshops on behalf of clients
  • Support event planning, including overseeing site selection, venue coordination, on-site event preparation, client briefings, on-site event support, and reporting out afterwards on next steps
  • Anticipate issues and proactively offer solutions to ensure flawless execution of communications programs

 

Qualifications:

  • 3-4 years of experience in communications, political campaigns, organizing or event management
  • Experience at a corporate communications, public relations or public affairs agency or comparable in-house position is strongly preferred
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to execute events with members of the public

·         Ability to work in a fast-paced environment switching seamlessly between multiple projects, turning things around in record time while also paying close attention to the crucial details (i.e. grammar, spelling, consistency of message, etc.)

  • Superb interpersonal and communication skills

·         Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions with minimal supervision

·         Highly motivated self-starter who can also work collaboratively

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Bachelor’s degree required

 

The position requires working from the agency’s Walnut Creek office when not travelling for events.
