You don’t explore on interviews. You never know where your dream job is going to pop up. Going on interviews even if you don’t think they are an exact fit is imperative. You never know what the position could turn in to; who the interviewer knows (could lead their contacts/friends they suggest you meet with). I’ve seen many individuals interview for one role and then the company carves out a role that is much more to the candidates liking, a more senior role, and harnessing their passion.

You don’t network. Constant networking is so important to lead you to your dream job. Connecting on LinkedIn, going to trade events, and just bring your desires up to your friends and family. It’s all about reaching out with your desires. Everyone knows someone and by constantly talking people can introduce you to situations and people that can lead to your “pie in the sky” job.

You don’t dream. If you don’t believe that you have the means to do what you REALLY want to do, you do. This is your life, live the life you dream. Take small steps to reach your goals. Start by writing down what you want, what it would take to get there, ask for advice, and the biggest thing you can start to do is visualize yourself in that role or position. Dreams come true every day for millions of people. Start now!
